Bottrading — designing before coding, screen by screen

Design, test and monitor trading agents on your own account, without the platform ever holding funds.

No performance, no returns, no investment advice. This page shows a design and engineering method.

The problem

A trading platform shows numbers everywhere. One inconsistent number between two screens is enough to lose trust, and the risk of error is real.

The answer

A private platform to create trading agents, try them in simulation and on a test environment, then monitor them. It never holds funds: everyone connects their own account, without withdrawal rights. Guard rules cut losses, and every correction to an agent is versioned and justified.

Three screens

Creating an agent, the states board (empty, loading, error, circuit breaker) and the colour token chart.

Design board — no performance, no returns, no investment advice

Bottrading, design board: creating an agent
①Creating an agent.
Bottrading, design board: interface states
②The interface states board.
Bottrading, design board: colour token chart
③The colour token chart.

Design boards, built from a numeric fiction. These are not results.

What was hard

210 states, one story.

Before any code, 49 screens and 210 states were generated from a single numeric fiction: one fictional user, five fictional agents, a frozen "now". Every number shown is computed, not made up; two screens cannot contradict each other.

Mockup before ticket.

An interface ticket stays blocked until its mockup exists.

What is left

Real accounts stay locked: legal texts still have to be written, and no paid offer is planned.

Under the hood

Two processes: the Next.js interface and a Node engine. 52 design boards, generated by script. Custom lint rules: no hard-coded text, colour or regional format.
